बॅडमिंटन म्हटलं, कि हल्लीच्या मुलामुलींसमोर येतात सायना-सिंधू आणि सात्विक-चिराग. बॅडमिंटनची लोकप्रियता गेली काही वर्षं सातत्याने वाढत आहे. पण बॅडमिंटन आणि प्रामुख्याने त्याच्या इतिहासावर फार कमी पुस्तकं आहेत. ज्येष्ठ पत्रकार विजय लोकापल्ली आणि त्यांचा मुलगा अक्षय या दोघांनी जबदरस्त अभ्यास करून 'नेट फ्लिक्स' नावाचं पुस्तक इंग्रजीतून आपल्यासमोर आणलं आहे. गेल्या ५०-६० वर्षांतील मातब्बर खेळाडूंना प्रत्यक्ष भेटून, जुने सामने पाहून, लेख वाचून त्यांनी आपल्यासमोर हे पुस्तक आणलं आहे. आदित्य जोशी मारत आहे बाप-मुलाच्या या अनोख्या जोडीशी 'कट्ट्यावरच्या गप्पा'.
Indian badminton is associated by Gen Z with the likes of Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu and Sat-Chi - the doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty. It's understandable with badminton consistently becoming a crowd-puller over the last few years. But not too much has been documented about Indian badminton's glorious past. Veteran sports journalist Vijay Lokapally and his son Akshay have co-authored a well-researched English book, titled Net Flicks, that details Indian badminton's sojourn. The father-son duo relieve the making of the book in a chat with Aditya Joshi on Kattyawarchya Gappa.
