Show Notes
Local artist Meghan Jones is challenging ocean horror stories, painting a vibrant picture of marine life. She co-founded the Unseen Ocean Collective, a traveling art and science exhibit, now in Spokane. Inspired by marine biologist Edith Widders memoir and stunning NOAA photos, Jones work has gained recognition, including a piece at Australias Deep-Sea Research Centre. The exhibit, backed by a city arts grant, engages elementary schools with hands-on science talks and STEAM kits. It has already visited Juneau, Alaska, and will next head to Oregon State Universitys Hatfield Marine Science Center, spreading awareness about rare coral worlds.
