Show Notes

Spokanes early schools, like Franklin, Washington, Lincoln, and Hawthorne, once shaped neighborhoods but are now mostly gone. These buildings, constructed in the late 1800s, served as primary schools until high school became optional. The Bryant School, however, survived and still stands today. These schools reflected Spokanes growth, from railroads to interstates, and their demolition paved the way for modern development.
