Meanwhile, in 1926, a Spokane courtroom saw an unusual bigamy case involving Magdalen Cook, who married Lester Cook to help him avoid prison. Despite their plans, Lester was sent back to prison, and Magdalen received a sentence of six months to fifteen years. In 1968, General Motors celebrated a milestone by producing its one hundred millionth car, an Oldsmobile Toronado.
