Spokane Mother Sentenced for Fentanyl Overdose of One-Year-Old Son
Samantha Anderson, a Spokane Valley mother, received a suspended jail sentence and two years of probation after her one-year-old son overdosed on fentanyl from drugs she left out. The incident occurred in March 2025 when Anderson, who had smoked fentanyl the previous night, left the drug-laden foil in her purse near her toddler. Despite administering Narcan and performing CPR, the child was rushed to the ER. Anderson is now required to undergo drug and alcohol testing and treatment programs to prevent future incidents.
