Show Notes
Spokanes U.S. Highway 195 receives a safety upgrade with a new J-turn at Meadowlane Road. This design, inspired by Michigan, aims to reduce crashes by forcing drivers to turn safely instead of crossing fast traffic. The project, starting Monday, should be completed by July, adding acceleration lanes and a sidewalk. The Meadowlane intersection has seen a rise in crashes, with nine in 2024 and one already this year. The city and state transportation are now working together, with future plans including Thorpe Road tunnels under the railway.
