Show Notes
In response to Eva Allens tragic death, Spokane County is implementing safety upgrades at her fatal crosswalk, including a new pedestrian-activated flashing beacon and improved street lighting. The Mead School District, Fairwood Retirement Village, and local Rob Allen have contributed funds. Evas family, the Allens, are launching a nonprofit to supply pedestrians with safety gear and hope to add a memorial plaque at the site. The community is also advocating for a speed limit reduction and an expanded school zone.
