Show Notes

Two Eritrean brothers, Daniel and Jolly Ghebreab, fled their homeland in 2009 to escape mandatory military service. Now, theyve built a thriving business empire in Spokane, including four markets, five rental houses, and a laundromat. Their latest ventures, Broadway Foods market and Broadway Laundromat, have been warmly welcomed by the community, providing much-needed fresh groceries and clean laundry services in a low-income food desert. The brothers, now U.S. citizens, have become community pillars, employing about twenty people and planning to open a cafe and bingo nights soon.
