Show Notes
Boeings 787 Dreamliner receives FAA approval for increased maximum takeoff weights, offering airlines more flexibility for payload and route options. The nine and ten models can now carry an additional 10,000 and 14,000 pounds, respectively, or fly 350 and 460 miles further. Boeing made these changes based on carrier requests for mission versatility, reinforcing wings, midbody sections, and landing gear on newer planes. Certification for retrofitting older planes is planned soon.
