Bloomsday Perennials, veteran runners of all forty-nine races, gathered at Spokanes museum to celebrate fifty years of Bloomsday. The exhibit showcases past finisher shirts, vintage photos, posters, and even Nike shoes from the era. Visitors can vote on the color for the upcoming fiftieth shirt. Stories of early challenges, like the AAU fee dispute, were shared. Artist posters, including one by Harold Balazs, stood out. Founder Don Kardong recounted the races origins. Volunteers, five thousand strong, keep the race running. The poster designer will sign his work at Terrain this Friday. As the big five-oh race approaches, the exhibit keeps the spirit of Bloomsday alive.
