The Spirituality of Connection

Addiction is a disease of disconnection.Recovery means establishing authentic, life-giving connections with oneself, one’s higher power, and other people. One of the greatest gifts of recovery is realizing that extending ourselves to others opens the channel for immense good to come to us. Connection is always a two-way street. As we give, so we receive. Special guest Roger Temme, M.Div., is the outreach director for the Care Communities in Austin, Texas, a nonprofit that creates volunteer teams to help those facing HIV/AIDS or cancer alone. Addiction can frequently be a complicating factor.
