In this week’s episode SPA’s Anneke Flinn speaks with Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Professor Yvette Hyter from Western Michigan University. Professor Hyter explores the ways the speech pathology profession can be more culturally and linguistically responsive. Professor Hyter is a keynote speaker at the upcoming 2021 Speech Pathology Australian Virtual National Conference. Speech Pathology Australia acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of lands, seas and waters throughout Australia, and pay respect to Elders past, present and future. We recognise that the health and social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are grounded in continued connection to culture, country, language and community.
