Show Notes

Three seniors, Alexander Schmelzling, Brody Weiss and Caitlin Reindiof Nicolet High School in Glendale join Kristin and Brian to talk about winning the 2025 third in C-SPAN’s 21st Annual StudentCam competition for their documentary “Shots fired. Your Message to the President”. The students talk more about the project and the C-SPAN competition, how they started working together, and the inspiration behind the film. Also, a new lawsuit going through the courts is threatening Section 504 of the Disabilities Education Act of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 which ensures students with disabilities or other health conditions get the appropriate accommodations to succeed in school. Director of Legal and Advocacy Services at Disability Rights Wisconsin, Kristin (KIT) Kerschensteiner joins Kristin and Brian to discuss what that means if it goes away. Then Kristin and Brian discuss an Irishman who plans to go to every Irish pub in the world. There is an estimate 6,500 pubs and he has been to 97 in 47 countries.
