In the united states, 42% of adults living with obesity and the number is projected to rise. However, access to anti-obesity medication is incredibly hard for insured individuals to come by. Dr. Chris Ford of Milwaukee’s Emergency Physician at Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s joins Kristin and Brian to discuss why Medicare isn’t covering these medications, how obesity is affecting many Americans and overall health in the states, which insurances companies are covering it and why others aren’t and why it’s cheaper in other countries. Then Director of Milwaukee’s The 57th Shamrock Club of Wisconsin St. Patrick’s Day Parade Mike Boyle joins Spanning the State to talk about this weekend’s big event. He shares why he is back directing this year after saying last year was his last, what to expect for participants who have never been, the history of the parade, what other events to expect that day and the involvement of the Shamrock Club of Wisconsin. Later Brian and Kristin discuss the DHS commercial where Secretary Kristi Noem announced a nationwide and international multimillion-dollar ad campaign warning illegal aliens to leave our country now or face deportation with the inability to return to the United States.
