KEY TAKEAWAYS
- The world is changing, energetically, and I’m changing as well, and I’m starting to align with people with a certain energy and love which they are leading from inside, rather than the old fear-driven model of everything is money-driven, bottom-line profit. There’s a more holistic approach now around “people, not profit”. They’re leading by example rather than saying “do what I say not as I do”.
- My favourite music is ballads. I love the soul searching around love, because it’s been such a massive influence on my world, as it is in all our worlds. One of my favourite songs from the past is David Cassidy’s ‘Daydreamer’! What I’ve learned over the years is to let it go, drop the mask and be vulnerable. Males tend to have a problem with that.
- Brian Clough, ex-manager of Nottingham Forest FC for 18 years was phenomenal. For me he breezed into the club in 1975, when my own world was at the height of its turbulence. I didn’t know I was looking for a father figure – because the males in my life left a lot to be desired – but I was mesmerised by his outspokenness. Somehow, at the age of 15, before I even knew the word, I had an intuition that there was something about this guy that I deeply connected with. He was a master philosopher about the game of life, he was ahead of his time.
- There is only one language: The language of love. Money doesn’t make my world go round. If you’ve got love, you’re a multi-trillionaire.
BEST MOMENTS
‘The world is changing, it’s reached a stage of its development – especially with the younger generation, they’re having none of it. If I had a pound foe every time I’ve heard this from young people: “We don’t want fat, middle-aged politicians telling us how to run our life, because they haven’t got a clue.” They’re looking for something new.’
‘I think young people are amazing, and their energy and innovation that they bring to the world. But, the old guard is not going to go down without a fight.’
‘Our vulnerability is our strength if you have the courage to wear your heart on your sleeve and tell people how much you, not just care about them, but love them.’
‘Perception is all there is.’
