Julia Poepping is Principal Consultant with Copasec LLC.  She’s a Pittsburgh-based independent IT consultant with 30 years of experience in the field.

Julia has a BA in Management Information Systems from University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh-Katz Graduate School of Business.  She is actively engaged in the community, serving on volunteer boards with Pitt’s MBA business simulation program, 412 Food Rescue, Red Chair Pittsburgh and Robert Morris University’s Center for Cyber Research and Training.  She is an adjunct teaching professor for Carnegie Mellon University’s IS project course and guest lectures for Pitt’s Risk Management program in the business school.

Julia spoke with Kim and Natalie about the ongoing challenges for women in the IT field (including one stat that really blew our minds), and how companies can be more inclusive to emerging and mid-career women in tech.
