Steve Bhaerman has for many years been known by his alter ego, Swami Beyondananda. His regular columns were popular in many new age magazines across the country, even as he skewered woo-woo nonsense with silly puns and enlightened humor. His book Spontaneous Evolution, co-written with Bruce Lipton, turned Darwinism on its ear, proving that evolution is neither random nor slow, but conscious and sometimes very very fast. In this cast, he discusses how nature demonstrates far more cooperation than competition, and how knowledge of that is reshaping the institutions of society, especially medicine. He talks about how the study of epigenetics shows that we are not hostage to our genes, and that "the field" has far more impact on our health, and with proper lifestyle choices, we can control whether genes express or not. In the last decade, the science of Epigenetics has been experiencing rapid and dramatic breakthroughs in understanding how the environment of the cells is far more important to the health of a cell than the genetic blueprint in the DNA. Indy Mayhem Show 13 Zach GowenFormer WWE superstar and current professional wrestler Zach Gowen joined us on the Wrestling Mayhem Show to share some of his amazing story! Gowen, who lost his leg at a young age from cancer, fought his way to become a major star in the WWE. During our conversation, Gowen discussed his life post WWE; how he lost his identity and went down a dark path and how he found his way back, got clean and found meaning in life. Gowen also talked about a possible new era for professional wrestlers; as some are now bucking the trend and beating some of the addictions that plagued and eventually killed many before them. Viewers of the show then asked Gowen questions like: what his favorite match was and who his favorite opponents were. These questions lead to Gowen discussing the viciousness of professional wrestling when he started, to what it is now. Gowen then talked about his interesting relationship with fellow professional wrestler Gregory Iron. Iron, a professional wrestler with cerebral palsy; used Gowen as inspiration to become a professional wrestler and clean up his own life.
