The rise of far-right movements has shifted from fringe to mainstream, with ideologies becoming more visible in political discourse. Misogyny is deeply intertwined with far-right ideologies, often manifesting in the policing of gender norms. The online radicalization of individuals often leads to real-world violence, with many attacks being carried out by individuals rather than organized groups. The fear of replacement is a significant motivator for far-right ideologies, often rooted in historical precedents and conspiracy theories. Anti-Semitism remains a central theme in far-right propaganda, often framed as a conspiracy against white populations. Meme culture has transformed the way far-right ideologies are disseminated, making them more accessible and relatable to younger audiences. The appeal of far-right communities often lies in the sense of belonging and brotherhood they provide to disaffected young men. Women in far-right communities may be drawn to traditional gender roles as a response to economic pressures and societal expectations. Loneliness and isolation among young men are exacerbated by online culture, leading to harmful scapegoating of women and minorities. Colleen's story shares similarities with every story we have profiled save one difference, she won her case in the PCA. So we look into when women "win," what that means for their relationship with the church and its leadership, as well as their marriages (or former marriages). Megan (and her family) were horrifically abused by her ex-husband, and you'll hear what kind of counsel came from the mouth of Jim, which then starts making more sense of Doug. Dominion theology begets dominating over families. Sex becomes a conquering act, not the beautiful union of a man and a woman who love one another. Women are receptacles for the pleasure of men, marriage a plan for taking over the world, and spanking kids the key to obedience and warriors in the quiver of the father. Mothers required only because they're needed for the birth, not because they contribute anything, but because men can't do it on their own. Sex is beautiful, families are beautiful, and children are beautiful. But none of these are ultimate. All of these are wonderful blessings of God. But none are tools for our gain. The Savior came not to be served, but to serve, and give his life a ransom for many. The King who came not to rule, but to give. This time we have Beth Allison Barr (James Vardaman Professor of History at Baylor University, and author of numerous books), Sheila Wray Gregoire (founder of Bare Marriage, and author of numerous books), Cait West (yes, again!), and Hannah Oliver. The men are trained as leaders, and the women, as followers. The virtuous woman *only* stays at home, homeschools her children, satisfies her husband, and makes sure there's no ugliness in her. They are to stay silent, unless, of course, they've been approved to teacher other women to... stay silent. You can speak, as long as you tell other women not to. At the same time women are more liable to deceit than their male counterparts they also hold the power to cause their brothers to stumble. It's a whiplash, a system wherein you're told to be feminine, but not too feminine, smart, but not too smart, put together, but not independent. In summary, it's impossible. Patriarchy is not only toxic for the women subjugated under it, it's an impossible system for the men to exercise. It's a reaction to the perceived feminization of the church, of culture, and of society. It's an ideology wherein it's not enough to *be* a man, you must *do* manly things to prove it. The Trinity is the bedrock of the Christian faith: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. But what happens when you've entered into a culture war? The perceived "feminization" of the Evangelical church presents to you a problem: how do we fight this? Enter the old heresy of the Father as "authority" and the Son as "submission." The man in the marriage mirrors God the Father's role, while the wife is subjugated to that of the Son. What better to keep women under control than to tell them to "suffer like Jesus." The Trinity then becomes the foundation for gender roles. Let's fix this. S3 Ep 31This is What Happens When Husbands DOMINATE Wives

Media inquiries: https://www.sonsofpatriarchy.com/contact Patreon: patreon.com/sonsofpatriarchy Website: sonsofpatriarchy.com Donate: https://donorbox.org/sons-of-patriarchy Both stories are coming on anonymously. The first is a couple who attended a CREC in the Southeast, and the second is a woman who grew up at Harvest OPC, near Grand Rapids, Michigan. The first story is about spiritual abuse and gaslighting, the second story is the outworking of Nancy Wilson's disgusting quip, "of course a husband is never trespassing his own garden" in this woman's life. We can do better. S3 Ep 30The Reasons Why Doug Wilson is a FALSE Teacher

Scott Clark and I as we discuss Federal Vision, it's various off-shoots and internecine debates, amber ale and oatmeal stout "versions," engage with clips from Douglas Wilson, Richard Lusk (among other CREC ministers who have blocked us), and look at the original statements and lectures from Auburn Avenue in 2002. This is our most theologically dense episode of the series. It's a beatdown of "Federal Vision," a works-based Christianity. We end by describing how this system of doctrine necessarily leads to abuse and obedience that is "cloaked" in submission. Let's make the gospel scandalous, not scandalized. That which leads to human flourishing, not fear. R. Scott Clark's faculty page: https://tinyurl.com/yc3pjz5c R. Scott Clark's podcast: https://tinyurl.com/ycxaruw2 R. S3 Ep 28The HARM Spiritual Abuse Does to a Jesus Follower

Media inquiries: https://www.sonsofpatriarchy.com/contact Patreon: patreon.com/sonsofpatriarchy Website: sonsofpatriarchy.com Donate: https://donorbox.org/sons-of-patriarchy Meet Aimee Byrd (a former member of the OPC in the Northeast and prolific author), Ali LeReaux (a former member of the OPC in the Southeast), and Heather Nadreau (a former member of Christ Church Spokane, CREC). Spiritual abuse so often gets short shrift, but it upends everything you think about the gospel, the church, Jesus, and the pastors who are commanded to shepherd your soul. The gospel ceases being a salve in favor for a rod. It ceases building you up, by beating you down.
