Kannada film Kantara qualifies for the Oscars contention list

Rishab Shetty’s labour of love and perhaps, the most critically-acclaimed Kannada movie of 2022, Kantara has finally got its due. The film is now eligible to be nominated for the Oscars in the Best Picture and Best Actor categories. SS Rajamouli's RRR has also qualified in the Best Original Song category for the song 'Naattu Naattu'. Whether both these films will receive nominations remains to be seen, but it speaks volumes of the recognition Indian films are gaining these days across the globe.
