His battle with bipolar illness and his experiences as a sportswriter for teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Raptors provided him with a wealth of stories and insights. However, it was his transition to working with business professionals that highlighted a common issue: many people do not fully understand or appreciate the power of their own stories.
Mike emphasized the lasting impression a well-told story can leave on an audience. He shared techniques for effective storytelling, such as crafting a powerful proposition, leveraging personal backstories, and offering valuable advice to captivate listeners. He also stressed the importance of asking questions and connecting on a deeper level to unearth meaningful narratives.
