On January 15, 1947, the body of a young woman was found by a mother and her young daughter while taking a stroll in Los Angeles. The body was naked, cut in half at the waist, and posed in such a way that she was first thought to be a mannequin. There was no blood at the scene, despite the amount of mutilation and cuts to the body. The Black Dahlia has continued to be a mystery to this day.
