Have anxiety about recent events or worry about what's happening in your own sphere of influence? Charlie had a recent speaking event where he spoke about having peace. We have peace with God on a universal scale through Christ, but that doesn't mean we have peace in our own hearts. Many escape into their hobbies, which isn't necessarily a bad thing; others delve into drugs. What is our first resort when trouble occurs? How do we respond? Charlie brings insight into how to deal with this and what the proper response and attitude should be. So, what can we do to keep focus and have peace within ourselves?

As a street fighter in his youth, Raheel knew how to beat up people. Though raised in a nominal Christian home, a small minority in Muslim Pakistan, he ended up in a denominational seminary with questionable beliefs including salvation by works. When he discovered the gospel of free grace, he shared it so aggressively that he earned the title "The Punching Pastor." He has since learned to mellow and now ministers through his translation and podcast editing skills. But life is hard as a Christian minority in a poor Muslim country, yet Raheel has a vision to share the gospel with his country and give them a much needed online seminary and a new Bible translation. In this podcast we catch-up with Charlie in a sermon while on the road. He covers an overview of Revelation with a focus on chapter 1 which is in itself an overview of the rest of the book. There are several views of how to interpret Revelation but it's largely a futuristic viewpoint. Many find the book a challenge to understand; some going so far as to say we can't know what it's saying. God certainly has given us some challenges but the key to interpreting Revelation is to understand the Old Testament. Almost everything is based on this as there are over 300 references to it. While some of the visions are difficult to understand, they will likely become clearer as we approach Christ's return. But the importance of this book cannot be understated. It is ultimately a vision of the future designed to encourage us and give us hope. So find out how knowing the end game can help us in our daily Christian walk.

Raised as Christians, Matthew and Emily later found themselves in a church that preached Reformed Calvinism. This psalm deserves its place as the first of the 150 psalms. The themes of the centrality of God's Word and the contrast between the righteous and unrighteous characterize so many of the Psalms and other wisdom literature. But best of all, this psalm has a promise of a blessed (or happy) life for those who distance themselves from evil people and stay close to God's Word. Who doesn't want a happy life? It's guaranteed if you follow the psalm's wisdom.

Is Free Grace theology a contrived system? Where does it come from? We will hear in this interview with Grant Hawley, director of the Free Grace Alliance, that it depends on how we interpret the Bible, our hermeneutic. When interpreted literally with the plain sense of the language, we see the Bible has distinct ages where God deals differently with His people. Yet all through the Bible, salvation is always by grace through faith. We should not confuse the promises to Israel with promises to the church. Systems like Reformed Calvinism, Amillennialism, and Covenant Theology interpret the Bible differently and ot gives them a distorted and confusing gospel.

Eventually, Bryan Conard learned that reading Proverbs was a better idea than smoking it. But he was a different person as a young man living in an environment of crime and drugs. It took a spell in prison to get his attention, and once God's love and grace broke through Bryan's brokenness, things began to change. How God intervened in Brian's life to save him from himself and a wasted life in prison will amaze you. The atonement refers to the finished work accomplished by Jesus Christ on the cross that makes salvation and all its blessings possible. Dr. Allen has written extensively on the subject (see the books mentioned in the introduction to the previous discussion of Calvinism). Strict Calvinists insist that Jesus did not die for the sins of all people, but only the elect. We will see how weak and unfortunate this theological position is.

There are a lot of things that dominate our lives, but how many of those things are important? Which things will outlive the week, the month, the year? Which will have eternal significance? In this grace story, Charlie speaks with Stephanie Hosey, who found the grace of God in Jesus Christ. She was born and raised within the Catholic church and didn't have an understanding that Christ died for her. She only understood the historical facts but didn't believe them for herself. It was through God's gentle nudging that she came to understand the power of God's grace in her life and ultimately why she was in need of a savior and what Christ had done for her. From this new understanding her life changed from living a Christian life that was performance oriented, which is a form of bondage, into living a life by grace. There's a story about C.S. Lewis who was attending the British conference on comparative religions. To paraphrase, during this conference they were debating the question "Is there anything unique to the Christian faith?" The incarnation of Christ maybe? nope. The resurrection? nope. Miracles? nope. Changed life? nope. They couldn't find anything unique as all other religions had something similar (true or not). That is until C.S. Lewis walked in and asked, "What's the rumpus about?" They informed him of the question and his response was "oh, that's easy, it's grace." ...and that was the end of the discussion. There's really nothing else that comes close to Christ's teaching that God's love and relationship with Him come absolutely free. It is unconditional love with no strings attached. It's this idea that's not just unique amongst other religions, but to mankind's very nature. Mankind has a natural aversion to grace. There is something inherent within us that says that we must have something to do with our own salvation; be it the Buddhist eight-fold path, the Hindu doctrine of Karma, the Jewish covenant, and Muslim code of law. Christianity is built on grace, it's what makes our faith unique. If we don't understand this foundational truth, we can end up misapplying things in our daily walk and stunt our growth as believers. This is the topic Charlie takes on in this podcast as he focuses in on Ephesians 2:8-10.

It's so important though that if we lose our understanding of grace, we lose that uniqueness, and end up like any other religion that has or will exist. Grace is a surprise, it's one of the reasons that the world doesn't understand what Christ did. Without grace the everyone struggles in a world of ungrace to find acceptance from others, they struggle for joy, for hope, for assurance. All of these are wrapped up in grace. Water where she would never need to return to get more and would satisfy her forever. This clearly peaked the woman's curiosity. Jesus stressed the freeness of this water that only He could offer her. It likely made her wonder; who is this man and what is this living water and what's the catch?
