Angie and Tonya are Fired Up - REALTOR Value

Our industry is currently under attack and we can’t take it. There is a lawsuit currently under way in Kansas City with the National Association of REALTORS as the named defendant along with a few large franchise companies. The suit alleges that NAR and others, through the Multi-List Service, have created a marketplace that is unfair. They say that practices have led to set pricing which means commission rates are too high and buyer brokers are being paid too much. We vehemently disagree and so do the defendants. We discuss all the things REALTORS do for both buyers and sellers in the transaction. We detail how the MLS works exactly the opposite of what the plaintiffs allege. It creates open, fair marketplaces. It allows all listings to have equal opportunity for all REALTORS to see the home. There is no set commission in our local area. As members of the National Association of REALTORS, we adhere to a code of ethics that is at the core of who we are and what we do.
