Published in 1944, Nosso Lar: Life in the Spirit World by Chico Xavier tells the story of doctor Andre Luiz and his life on the other side, and what he learned while on earth.
The film based on Nosso Lar, titled Astral City: A Spiritual Journey was released in 2010.
Host Fern Ronay and author Maira Rayanne discuss the movie and what stood out to them the most, including the mind's ability to heal oneself, and make one ill, as well as the idea of reincarnation, purgatory and hell.
Rayanne is the author of the memoir Georgia Haven: A Love Story Across States and Time, which was published last year, and the soon to be released (August 2019) memoir Beyond These Green Eyes: A Memoir of Fragmented Pieces and Rediscovery. She also leads a Survivors of Suicide support group in her adopted city of Atlanta.
