Most people build their style inspiration boards from outfit photos. The problem is you end up chasing someone else's aesthetic instead of your own.
The designers at Alice Lane build their interiors from sources that have nothing to do with interiors: a vintage sports car, a textile, a memory of a place. The result is spaces that feel completely original because the inspiration was never borrowed.
Your wardrobe works the same way. When you stop looking at clothes for style inspiration and start looking at everything else that moves you, something shifts. You stop second-guessing and start recognizing. The image tells you what you're after. Then you just have to translate it.
