Show Notes

Managing partner Eric Lagier at byFounders tells the story of why some of the most accomplished founders from the Nordics got together in a venture fund investing in “the next generation of founders with global ambitions”.

Eric himself co-founded the Internet Social Media startup Memolane. He raised funding from major investors in Silicon Valley, Asia and Europe.

After 3 years Memolane was successfully acquired by HP.

He tells about his biggest challenges during his ventures.

In the podcast he also gives us insight into his strategy and what he looks for in the founders that the fund invest in. He also talks about how he wants to get rid of the Nordic “schadenfreude” and “The Law of Jante”, why he hates the classical pitch, and how a journey with a tall ship from Oslo to Copenhagen can help Nordic entrepreneurship.
