Show Notes

Today I have the pleasure of speaking with my dear friend and colleague Dr. Katie Thompson Aitken. Dr. Katie is a registered Naturopath practicing out of Guelph, Ontario who is passionate about empowering patients with anxiety to reconnect with their innate sense of calm.

After experiencing how anxiety can manifest into physical symptoms throughout her entire life, Dr. Katie has dedicated her practice to supporting women with anxiety in building a lifestyle that takes them out of that constant fight or flight mode, and into the ever-elusive rest and digest. Most importantly, Dr. Katie reminds us that living audaciously often means releasing judgment, be it from others - or more likely ourselves - in order to truly live in alignment with our authentic selves.

In today's episode we discuss:

  • The importance of considering biopsychosocial approaches to wellness
  • Identifying where our sense of worthiness stems from
  • Why taking dedicated time to care for our whole selves is crucial to supporting our mental health
  • What does it mean to "find the calm"?
  • The steps to recovering from anxiety
  • How living authentically and mindfully is crucial to making decisions from a place of love
  • The importance of great pajamas
