Many of us are prone to confirmation bias in our Bible study—reading a text we've encountered hundreds of times, believing we know exactly what it means, despite the context, and thereby confirming our interpretation. The problem is that often those interpretations are just plain wrong, or at least misguided or lacking. Did Yeshua come to disrupt the religious system of Judaism and replace it with a new religion called Christianity? He seemed to always be at odds with the religious people of his day.
