Rachael and Greg are back in Indiana on a late holiday visit and after hearing tall tales of the trade we decided to welcome, Rachael's very own Father In-Law - Mike Hunter onto the podcast to tell us about some of the scariest moments he experienced as a High Voltage electrician during his 37 year career.

When we left off last week, we had learned about The Dating Game contestant Rodney Alcala’s assault of 8-year-old Tali and his first murder victim in NYC (at least, the first that we know of).We also reveled in the fact that a couple of his school-aged campers recognized his photo on the FBI Most Wanted list hanging in the Post Office near their New Hampshire camp (and yes, he changed his name to John Berger and worked at a camp for young girls after the assault on Tali and the alleged first NYC Killing). And just to recap, at this point in this confusing back and forth timeline, he is now a registered sex offender is about to land a job working for the LA Times, despite that registered sex offender status and finding himself in jail a couple times before appearing on The Dating Game show in 1978.

Coincidentally, while we are covering this case - there was a break after years of evidence going cold. Just this week children of a man they claim to be D.B. Cooper finally broke their silence now that their mother has passed and have a parachute they claim their father used in the infamous sky jacking - we also speak with former flight attendant Derrick Danzl for an exclusive take on what it's like to be part of a flight crew.

D. B. Cooper has never been identified even though he hijacked a Boeing 727 aircraft in United States airspace on November 24, 1971. During a flight from Portland, Oregon, to Seattle, Washington, Cooper told a flight attendant he had a bomb, demanded $200,000 cash and four parachutes upon landing in Seattle.Somewhere south of Seattle D.B. opened the escape hatch and parachuted into the black of night. Cooper's whereabouts have never been found.

Deep in the annals of Aguilar, Colorado - miles down a dirt road, lies a black Pyramid house nestled under the Spanish Peaks built by a man determined to bring back his wife's soul from the dead.But that was 50 years ago. Now, the homestead is owned by a former Los Angeleno named Austin who after renovating the Pyramid house has come face to face with spiritual entities - perhaps the former occupants.

Suspecting the group of stockpiling illegal weapons, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms obtained a search warrant for the compound and arrest warrants for Koresh and several of the group's members. Starting on February 28th 1993 The Branch Davidians, led by David Koresh, were prepared to stay put at their Mount Carmel Center ranch while the U.S. federal government and Texas state law enforcement officials started a siege of the compound that lasted 51 days and ended on April 19, 1993.

1984 David Koresh lead a faction of Seventh-day Adventist, calling themselves the Branch Davidians against George Roden, who was leading the competing faction. George Roden had ran Howell and his followers off their Mount Carmel compound at gunpoint. Howell and his group relocated to Palestine, Texas and the beginnings of what resulted in the famous "Waco Siege" was born.

In this week's episode Rachael talks to a horse trainer that actually had encounters in the quarter horse world with different cartels. Bob was a California Kid when the Source Family and Manson Family were gaining momentum in the late 60's & early 70's Los Angeles scene. Both of these groups influenced the record industry at the time and Bob's brother in-law was the founder of Kama Sutra Records and Family Productions and was a mega music industry exec and prolific producer of the Bubblegum Pop era. This connection would place Bob in a number of epic Hollywood stories you're about to hear.

Father Yod claimed 13 wives before an impending apocalypse prompted the group to flee to Hawaii - where they were not welcome.

This episode profiles the wild up bringing of Jim Baker better known as "Father Yod" and how he ended up in California starting one of the country's first health food restaurants on Sunset Strip before he started a cult. Jim would later found a spiritual commune in the Hollywood Hills known as the Source Family and of course, front a psychedelic rock band.

Herb Baumeister was an unsuspecting, Thrift store owner and serial killer whose reign of terror gripped Indiana in the 1980s & 90s. He is considered to be the number one suspect in the I-70 strangler case and after scattering thousands of human bones all over his Fox Hollow Farms estate - the land has remained haunted to this day.

Chandra Levy was an intern at the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Washington, D.C., who disappeared in 2001. She was presumed murdered after her skeletal remains were found in Rock Creek Park a year later in May, 2002. Despite multiple suspects, including a false confession by an inmate and an alleged affair with a congressman - The case remains unsolved to this day.

Greg was recently stuck on I-40 in the Mojave Desert for over 12 hours after a semi-truck hauling lithium-ion batteries crashed and shut down I-15 and all the traffic was diverted. After more collisions and break downs the bottle necks kept piling up until Greg's only shot at freedom was through the Mojave Preserve.....This harrowing Traffic Jam gridlock story prompted us to research other horrible traffic fiascos on American highways and there was no short supply.

And on this week of 7DS we are profiling, perhaps one of the bigger tragedies to the comedy corner of the entertainment world, was the shocking murder of Phil Hartman, beloved SNL actor, voice on the Simpsons, household name, an every man, but a legend.

What started out as a competition with both car manufactures and the drivers alike in 1923 became the most famous car race in history. It all began in 1923 when Mercedes, Jaguar, etc wanted to be the best at creating the ultimate car has now evolved into the smartest, most strategic teams of drivers showcase their skills, their ability to work as a team and dance the ultimate high speed dance of high risk skill. The Le Mans is also a limit pushing spectator sport where watching on the edge of your seat these drivers and their machines beat, and sometimes not, unimaginable odds. And in today’s case, it proved even more dangerous for the spectators than it did for the drivers. Not to discount the driver’s trauma, loss, and even death, but the 1955 Le Mans tragic disaster which took over 80 spectators lives and injured over 100 more is still the worst crash and outcome in racing history..

The Family, also known as the Santiniketan Park Association or the Great White Brotherhood, was an Australian New Age group formed in the mid 1960s under the leadership of Anne Hamilton-Byrne. The group taught a hodgepodge of Western and Eastern religious doctrines, with Hamilton-Byrne claiming to have been a reincarnation of Jesus. Classic cult move, Anne....The group became the centre of controversy when its compound in Olinda, Victoria, was raided by police in August 1987 amid allegations of child abuse. All children were removed from the premises, and were discovered to have been adopted through illegal means. Hamilton-Byrne and her husband were eventually arrested in 1993 and charged with conspiracy to defraud and to commit perjury in relation to the adoption scams, but those charges were eventually dropped and they fled on the lamb to the Catskill Mountains of New York.
