Like so many Con-Man prophets, Sun Myung Moon, of course, heralds himself as Jesus 2.0 to his followers - known as "Moonies"
Moon started The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification in 1954 and the Unification Church became widely recognized for its well known mass weddings they call Blessing ceremonies. The Church has been criticized for its teachings, its social and political influence, excessive financial exploitation of its members with critics calling it a dangerous cult, a political powerhouse, and a business empire.
