Norman Bates in "Psycho", Leatherface in "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", Hannibal Lecter und Buffalo Bill in "Das Schweigen der Lämmer" sind legendäre Filmbösewichte, die wir von ihren grausamen und hinterhältigen Taten auf der Leinwand kennen. Die Inspiration für all diese Charaktere kam jedoch zumindest teilweise von einem einzigen Mann. Sein Name war Ed Gein, auch bekannt als „The Butcher of Plainfield“.
