Show Notes

James Marsh is an editor, author and encyclopedist. He was editor-in-chief of The Canadian Encyclopedia from it's inception in 1980, until his retirement in 2013. He was named a member of the Order of Canada in 1987.

He joined Patrick to tell the story of The Canadian Encyclopedia--a forgotten chapter in Edmonton's history--discuss his upcoming memoir, "Know It All: Finding the Impossible Country," which will be released in May 2022, and look back on a storied career.

Beyond this, they touched on cinema (their mutual acquaintance Dr. Bill Beard), hockey, and the ultimate conflict of the digital age where everyone has a voice, for better or worse.
