Show Notes
David Watt owns and manages a 5,600 ha mixed farming business, where he runs close to 1000 merino ewes. He also handles winter cropping and an intensive lamb feedlot near Trundle, in Central West NSW.
In today's episode, David shares all the important details about developing a sheep feedlot, including what needs to be considered before starting a feedlotting business, and the major changes he has made to his design over time. David also explains the rather particular traits he looks for in his lambs, before reminding us all about the importance of biosecurity on farms.
Local Land Services Senior Natural Resource Officer, Jasmine Wells managed to squeeze in this chat with David on one of his recent trips into town for supplies.
