Show Notes
Mel Kiel, along with her husband David, runs a grass-fed cattle trading business on their property "Mione", near Yeoval. As David works as a mobile mechanic across NSW, Mel has taken the lead on farm, and has worked hard to build their cattle business whilst regenerating their soils, pastures, and general biodiversity.
In this episode, Mel explains how various training courses have led to their business success, and why she is such a big believer in building knowledge and continuous planning. She also shares the tools she uses to make timely decisions in her business, before sharing how and why she trades cattle with profit in mind before even making the purchase.
Central West Local Land Services Senior Natural Resource Officer, Jasmine Wells, caught up with Mel fresh out of the paddock for this chat at home on "Mione".
