Show Notes

Bill Castleden is a harvest contractor based in Warren in Central West New South Wales. Bill discovered his passion for contract harvesting while working on farms in the area, and with the help of some useful connections, he started his own contracting business in 2017.

In this episode, Bill gives us an inside look at what it takes to run a successful harvest contracting business. He also dives into the intricacies of machinery setup, attracting and retaining quality workers, and managing the day-to-day operations of a harvesting business. Plus, Bill shares his experiences working and travelling from the top of Queensland to the bottom of Victoria, and what he learnt along the way.

Local Land Services Cropping Advisor, Tim Bartimote caught up with Bill near Warren, in a couple of armchairs, at his home on "Drungalear".
