EDetective Robie has a chance run in with Derek in downtown Vancouver that prompts him to run police surveillance on the boys.

On Labour Day weekend 2008, Derek is robbed by three masked men. In October 2009, Derek falls in love with Mandy.

In February 2008, Derek, Messy, R-Luv and Hecky move to Vancouver and settle into a rented house in the suburbs. They are visited by one of Derek's old friends who tells Derek he has a drug problem.In October 2009, Derek walks into a diner after a three day coke binge and meets the girl of his dreams.
