Florida Secures SEC Title with Dominant Win Over Mississippi State
Florida, ranked fifth, clinched their first outright SEC regular season title since 2014 with a resounding 108-74 victory against Mississippi State. Coach Todd Goldens team, which received the trophy before the game, secured the championship outright after Georgia defeated Alabama earlier. Florida started slow but turned the game around with an impressive 18-0 run. Golden achieved his 100th career win at Florida, the fastest in school history. Rueben Chinyelu had 11 points and 16 rebounds for his 18th double-double, breaking a nearly 50-year-old record. Alex Condon led with 26 points, and Xaivian Lee added 19. Florida improved to 24-6, while Mississippi States Josh Hubbard scored 21 points in the loss.
