Florida Clinches SEC Title, Crushes Arkansas; Gators Secure Outright Title with Win Over Mississippi State

Floridas mens basketball team has secured at least a share of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) regular season title, following a dominant 111-77 victory over Arkansas. The Gators conference record now stands at 14-2, with an overall mark of 23-6. They hold a two-game lead over Alabama, and with only two games remaining, a single win against Mississippi State at home or against Kentucky on the road will secure the outright title.

Standout performances fueled the Gators, with Thomas Haugh scoring 22 points and grabbing 5 rebounds, Alex Condon contributing 17 points and 6 assists, and Rueben Chinyelu pulling down 16 rebounds. Florida has now won 9 straight and 18 of their last 20 games.

Coach Todd Goldens decision to sub in seven-foot-nine freshman Olivier Rioux with under a minute left in the game, while the Gators held a huge lead, added to the excitement of the home crowd. For Arkansas, it was their worst conference loss ever under new coach John Calipari, tying his biggest defeat from his Kentucky days.

As the regular season comes to a close, all eyes turn to the SEC tournament starting March 11th. Top seeds will receive byes into the quarterfinals, setting the stage for more intense battles ahead.
