Show Notes
Boogie Fland, a key transfer from Arkansas, is returning to the University of Florida for another season. He started all 38 games last year, averaging 11.3 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game. Flands defense was solid, but his offense improved significantly in the latter part of the season. He shot just 24% from three-point range in the first 29 games but made 13 at a 43% clip in the final 9. Overall, he shot 44.7% from the field. Flands return gives coach Todd Golden a crucial piece for the offseason, as the Gators three main big men are drawing NBA interest and could potentially leave. The team also needs a new starting point guard, which could be filled by Fland, Urban Klavzar, or a transfer portal addition. With Fland locked in, Florida can build around his defense and late-season shooting gains, setting up an exciting backcourt push next year.
