Alabama Womens Basketball Losing Key Players After Hiring New Coach
Alabama womens basketball has recently hired Pauline Love as their new head coach, but theyre already facing a significant loss of talent. Guard Diana Collins and forward Naomi Jones, along with freshman Joy Egbuna and redshirt sophomore Reychel Douglas, have all entered the transfer portal.
Collins, a junior starter, averaged 8.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1 steal per game. She transferred from Ohio State and had several standout performances.
Jones, a redshirt sophomore, played in 31 games with 13 starts, averaging 4.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and leading the team with 61 blocks. She bounced back strong after an ACL injury, setting career highs in points and rebounds.
This comes after former coach Kristy Curry left for USF, and with Loves arrival, the Tides roster is rapidly changing for the upcoming season.
