The small town of Mineral, Washington doesn’t have a lot of residents, or a lot of jobs - but they’re still taking care of each other.
Six rural hospitals in Oregon and Washington have closed their obstetrics units since 2020, including one in northern Oregon earlier this year.
And some colleges, including the University of Washington, have eliminated questions that reference diversity from their admissions applications in response to statements from the federal government.
