Nintendo Sues U.S. Government for Unlawful Tariffs Refund
Nintendo of America has filed a lawsuit against the federal government, seeking quick refunds with interest for tariffs that courts ruled unlawful. The video game giant imports products hit by these duties and wants its money back. The suit targets several agencies, including the Treasury Department, Homeland Security, Commerce, Customs and Border Protection, and the U.S. Trade Representative. The tariffs stemmed from President Trumps executive orders starting in February 2025, collecting over two hundred billion dollars overall. The U.S. Supreme Court agreed on February 20th that the tariffs were illegal, but Nintendo argues it still needs this specific lawsuit for a guaranteed payout.
