Show Notes
Plans to transform the former Weyerhaeuser headquarters in Federal Way into a law enforcement training site have been abandoned. The Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission, after exploring the option in May 2024, found the site impractical and unaffordable. The Burien facility, which handles training for police, corrections, and public safety, remains the primary training center, with upgrades planned. Four regional academies in Vancouver, Arlington, Pasco, and Spokane are now operational to increase training capacity and reduce wait times for new recruits.
