Show Notes
A King County jury awarded $24 million to the family of a Colorado electrician who died after a stem cell treatment in Seattle. Mike Trujillo, diagnosed with ALS in 2017, underwent a procedure at the Seattle Stem Cell Center, which led to severe brain bleeding and his death. The lawsuit targeted US Stemology, Doctor Tami Meraglia, and related medical spas. The verdict included $4 million for Trujillos estate, $5 million for his widow, and $3 million each for their five children. The clinic was also sued by the state attorney general for deceptive marketing of unproven stem cell therapies, resulting in an $800,000 judgment. The clinic shut down, but Doctor Meraglia now runs a hormone health practice.
