SCS Sabre Cast

Dr. Barfell is in the house as we put a bow on the 2025-2026 school year! We take a look at the new calendar model that kicked off the year, orientation for next year, and everything in between....including the possibility of Dr. Barfell dying his hair Blonde! It's the Season 3 SabreCast Finale...not too hot, not too cold, just right!

On the last episode before the SabreCast Season Finale, the guys recap a busy week at SCS! Our Seniors walked, ES students sang, and MS Girls soccer won! We take a quick look at what's coming up this week ...and be sure to stick around until the end when we discover who Tim's Secret admirer is!

SabreCast enters the final month of the school year recapping the Fine Arts Tour, previewing Lion King Kids auditions and Staff Appreciation Day...and we learned last week that Tim has never tried sweet potato crunch, but it would appear that he's got a secret SabreCast admirer (who could blame them, amirite!) to rectify the situation...not all heroes wear capes!

On a New Edition of SabreCast our not so New Kids on the Block, Tim and Nathan, wrap up April and preview the final month of the school year! The Fine Arts tour headed to O-Town last year, and are wrapping up this year's trip to Virginia. They went One Direction, and our 5th Graders are heading to another...their annual trip to Chattanooga! Senior parents, be sure to join us for the Senior Walk on Friday! SabreCast brings likes to bring out the big guns for the big episodes and the last episode before Easter definitely qualifies! Dr. Barfell is here to break down some big happenings at SCS this Spring...a Benevolence Project update, a new Assistant Superintendent, a new Head Football Coach, and a special Easter message as we prepare to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus!

Believe it or not, we're in the home stretch of the school year! With just one more week until Easter break Tim and Nathan take a look at what's happening as we wrap up 2024-2025. Spring concerts, Spring Sports, exams, and...gulp...graduation. Check out the calendar on mySCS for full details!

SabreCast wraps up a very busy March here at SCS and thanks to ALL who served, participated and donated to our Benevolence Project! Is that your student I see cheering on the Mario Kart finals?

The Benevolence Project, Spiritual Emphasis week, International Festival Week, Alumni Night, Tuck Everlasting...NCAA March Madness has got nothing on SCS! We wrap up our Benevolence Project this week with a number of fun ways to get involved!

On a special episode of SabreCast, Dr. Barfell and Mr. Morgan speak to Mr. Jon Konzelman who will be joining SCS as our new Assistant Superintendent this summer. We are excited to welcome Jon, his wife Amy and his kids JJ and Kloe to Southside Christian School!

Dr. Barfell is back in the house this week to recap a jam packed week at SCS. We were excited to welcome back SCS alumni for Spiritual Emphasis Week as we head into the Spring Benevolence Project...We will tell you why the next two weeks will be a fun way to raise funds for Freedom Christian School, our sister school in the Dominican Republic. Hey Sabre Fam, SabreCast has a confession to make. We recorded this week's episode prior to the new football coach being named, and we couldn't re-record with it being Sabre Week and all...so, our bad. We will definitely have Coach Gess on in an upcoming episode. That said, we ARE joined by a special guest in studio...but you have to look really closely to find Him. We'll take a look at some things that happened in the past week or so (is that your student I see?) and look ahead at Spiritual Emphasis Week coming in March. Have a great Winter Break!

SabreCast recaps a busy week on campus...There is always something happening at SCS! EE and ES let us know what they're doing for Black History Month and Nathan highlights some of the organizations that will be served during Sabre Week! We wrap up with a quick look at what's coming in MARCH!

It's Black History month and we'll take a look at what each school division's plans are. There's a mystery happening around campus that we need to get to the bottom of and we wrap up the episode with SuperBowl predictions...super sports fan Nathan can't wait for the big game!

As SabreCast waits to see if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, we are joined by SCS senior Matthew Kaczmarek to talk SGA candy grams (and monkey grams!), the Little Mermaid Jr., spring sports and more! This week's SabreCast is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you gonna get!

Re-enrollment begins Monday...and we recruited THE expert to let you know how simple the process is! Elementary School has their MAP testing is this week, so be sure to get a good night sleep kids! Coach Anderson joins us to preview a big week of Sabre Basketball...Come out and support your Sabres! The Elementary School talent show is coming...what secret talents do the guys have? Finally a familiar face lets you know about the experience of being part of the International Student Program. Opportunities are still available if you'd like to be a homestay family!

Tim and Nathan kick-off 2025 previewing a very busy month at SCS. From Rising 6th and 9th grade preview nights, ES Talent show auditions, and home basketball games this week (assuming we don’t get a foot of snow today), to open houses, Little Mermaid Jr. performances, and re-enrollment(!) we hit the ground running in January!

It's Christmas spirit week and Tim and Nathan have enlisted some friends to help break down the week's activities. Could Nathan BE wearing any more clothes? There's also a full slate of Christmas programs coming up and don't forget to show off your best cookie recipes at the cookie drop-in! The best way to spread Christmas cheer is watching SabreCast this time of year!
