A man inexplicably leaves his loving wife to pursue a trampish barfly who he is sure is his dream woman. He dreams that he will love her and she will kill him.

What is a dream? From where does it come and why? Wiser men than I say the dreams rise like mist out of various levels of the subconscious and the unconscious But what is the subconscious? What is the unconscious? No one really knows. Oh, there are theories. Yes But no one can say with certainty why we dream. Why, for instance, Norman Meredith dreamed that certain dream.
