As tariff headlines dominate, Michael believes markets want to see trade confrontations limited to China, though trade deals elsewhere can add a cushion to prevent new lows in the SPX. While Michael says escalation with China happened too fast, tax cuts and deregulation in the states can open a path for markets to reclaim all-time highs.
