Sandra Swirski calls the deal framework set by the U.K. and U.S. a "narrow" win. While she notes it could open the door to other countries, the deal will only "embolden" China. She argues China's economy can withstand trade losses from the U.S. and will hold out on a trade deal unless the Trump administration inks agreements with other countries. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's discussions with Chinese officials is something Sandra expects will draw "all eyes" over the weekend.
