“Companies have not guided for this next round” of tariffs, says Karen Short. She looks at retailers that are not as exposed to tariffs but says much is uncertain because of the lack of guidance. She says retailers may ask vendors for relief, absorb the higher costs, or try to pass them on. “It’s very hard to manage a business this way,” she emphasizes.
