Jeffrey Cleveland and Jake Clopton discuss inflation after the CPI report showed signs of reacceleration. Jeffrey says the good news is that “we’re not really seeing” tariffs boosting goods prices. He expects services prices to cool off soon. Jake thinks that falling rents are not being accurately reflected in the report because of the way the data is collected. They debate whether the Fed should cut rates in September.
